LOOK WHAT I FOUND

(an exclamation)

Excited and thrilled by finding something cool.

Taking a close look at the thing and really seeing it.

A discovery.

A possibility.

I found these objects and I made these objects. This seeming contradiction is at the core of my work. These are found objects, chosen because of their intriguing form. Yet, I purposefully made them, transforming the transient found natural objects into sculpture. Treading the line between found and made, natural and manufactured, real and unreal, they are a product of seeing, discovering, and appreciating their strangeness.

I thought they were real.

They can’t be real.

These are actual responses to my work. You, the viewer, are also charged with discovering the true nature of the work and whether it is real.
