Denatured is a group show featuring photography, sculpture, printmaking, painting, and projected images, from a collective of fourth-year BFA students. The show is about the relationships between humans, nature, pollution, recycling and the built environment. The participating artists Leah Small, Cierra Johnson, Julian Lynn, Melanie McGuire, Lisa Subryan, and Yuhan Shi worked together to create a gallery that effectively combines different art mediums into a unique exhibit. Collectively their work illuminates the visible and material culture of the Anthropocene. Their artworks relate through references to materials, ideas of progress and themes of recycling to create a better future.
